The greatest cricket captain and one of the best batsmen, Ricky Thomas Ponting has left a rich legacy for a long period of time to come in the gentlemen’s game. “Punter” as he was fondly called led Australia to triumphs in Ashes series and two consecutive World Cups in 2003 and 2007 respectively. He aggregated in excess of 13,000 runs in ODI’s and Tests respectively. He also stands tall in making centuries with 71 centuries in international cricket. This man is the second most splendid batter in Australian history after Sir Donald Bradman. At an age of 28 years and 33 days only, he reached the mark of 25 international century’s milestone.
