3. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (India) – 224
One of the coolest heads one will ever see in a cricket field. Dhoni is a man with the midas touch and turns everything he touches into gold. He has led Indian cricket team to glories and silverware in all the forms of the game. With his aggressive and unorthodox brand of cricket he has been vastly successful in limited over cricket and has had a decent test career as well. His career best of 224 came against the Aussies stands out for many reasons. The match was evenly poised when Dhoni came out to bat with India’s score at 196 for the loss of four wickets. It was the third day at MA Chidambaram stadium and the pitch had wide cracks and the ball was spinning sharply. But, Dhoni with his stupendous and belligerent strokemaking scored a breathtaking and scintillating knock of 224 which included 24 fours and six shots over the ropes and turned the tide in India’s favour out of nowhere. His exuberant counter attack on Australian off spinner Nathan Lyon took him to haywire. This gallant knock is still fresh in everyone’s mind. He is ranked 3rd on our list.
