4. Virender Sehwag (India) vs Shoaib Akhtar (Paksitan) :
Sehwag is as free-flowing and dismissive with the mouth as he is with the willow. He doesn’t listen to anything other than his inner consciousness which greatly reflects in his persona and humour.
Pakistani speed demon, Shoaib Akhtar was bowling bouncers at Sehwag, while saying “Hook maar ke dikha” (play the hook shot). Akhtar kept on bowling bouncers while uttering the same thing again and again, to which Viru in his brisk style replied ” Yeh bowling kar raha hai ya bheekh maang raha hai? [Is he bowling or begging?]”. He made Akhtar a laughing stock as his teammates can’t help laughing. But, Akhtar continued his chirping tactics and this around Sehwag told him:
“Woh tera baap khara hai non-striker end pe, usko bol woh maarke dikhayega” (That your father is standing at non-striker end, he will play hook shot). In the next over, Akhtar bowled the short ball again, and this time Sachin was on the strike, and he whipped the ball to the boundary . Then Sehwag in a hilarious way reminded Akhtar “Beta beta hota hai, baap baap hota hai” (Father is a father, and son’s a son)
