9. Dale Steyn 10-154 vs Australia, MCG, 2008
Australia have always been one of the strongest contenders in the cricketing world. Earlier that year, Australia lost the Commonwealth Bank series to India, which jeopardised their fortunes. Eventually, South Africa played some extraordinary cricket in test series against Australia. In the second test at Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Proteas were put to bowl against the phenomenal batting attack of Australia. Dale Steyn with his fierce pace ripped the Australian line up after they were off to a good start. Australia were 128-1, when an in swinging delivery knocked over the stumps of Simon Katich. The rest is history. Steyn’s flamboyant 5 wicket haul in both the innings helped South Africa to gain a 2-0 lead over the mighty Australia.
