6. Sreesanth 2-12 vs Australia, Semi Final, Durban, 2007
After defeating South Africa, India were up against the mighty Australia in the Semis. Australia, earlier that year lifted their 3rd successive World Cup title and to beat them was not everyone’s cup of tea. India compiled a mammoth 188 runs on the board, with Yuvraj rattling the bowlers yet again. In the 2nd innings, Sreesanth knocked over the stumps of Adam Gilchrist with a beautiful in swinging full length delivery, followed by successive dot balls. Australia had no clue to Sreesanth’s thunderbolts. In his 2nd spell, Mathew Hayden was bowled by Sreesanth coming around the wicket this time. Those were the days when the duo was as destructive as anything. Apart from Yuvraj’s quick 70 off 30 balls, Sreesanth’s famous sent off to the Australian openers came into light.
