Australia had to win this one, in order to make their trajectory unscathed for the semi final. In a day night affair, India were restricted to 140 runs after electing to bat on a spinning track. Shane Watson dismantled the middle order, adding 3 wickets to his account. In the 2nd innings, Indian bowling looked futile as Shane Watson along with David Warner mangled the bowlers all over. Watson’s 72 runs off 42 balls made the game one sided, with Australia winning by 9 wickets. His all round salubrious performance made him a standout player in that tournament.
