2. New Zealand vs Australia, 2005, Auckland
New Zealand took on the mighty Aussies in the 1st ever T20 international match at Auckland. Not having much exposure of T20 cricket before, Australia not only elected to bat, but chose to play some aggressive cricket. In the first over itself, Michael Clarke hammered the 1st ever six in a T20 game over the covers, though he soon departed to pavilion. In came the skipper Ricky Ponting who was in no mood to defend, as he gave some mighty blows to the Black Caps. Mike Hussey played a quick cameo along with Ponting to take Australia’s score past 200. Australia in second innings brushed off the Black Caps to win the 1st ever T20 international by 44 runs.
