Kapil Dev will always be remembered as the 1983 World Cup winning captain of India. Going into the alien foreign conditions of England with an under-dog side, Kapil Dev pulled off the 1983 World Cup trophy, an earth shattering achievement at that time which was beyond anyone’s expectations. The former Indian captain inspired millions of people to take up the sport in India. Fondly renowned as the ‘Haryana Hurricane’, Dev was the fast bowler for which Indian team had dreamed for ages and was the first match-winning fast-bowler for India.
