This year saw Virat Kohli taking over limited-overs captaincy from MS Dhoni. And the Indian dasher has responded in some style. With 1,460 runs this year so far, he has broken the world record for most ODI runs by a captain in a calendar year. This year has been like a dream for Virat as India have won all the bilateral ODI series played so far. And he has also topped the batting charts by a big margin.
Under his leadership, India was also runner-up in Champions Trophy. Kohli also overtook Ricky Ponting and now with 32 centuries has the second highest number of ODI centuries. Kohli’s hunger for runs and passion for wins has been the hallmark for him, this year as well. Indian skipper has the best average (76.84) and second best strike-rate (99.11) in this list. He has hit six centuries and seven fifties in 2017.
