With 6,215 runs in 206 away ODI innings, Mohammad Azharuddin holds fourth highest aggregate of away ODI runs by an Indian. Azharuddin was a piece of art. There are some batsmen who are god-gifted and Azhar’s leg-side play and wrist work was nothing less than a heavenly sight.
His batting was meant to be cherished. The former Indian captain pre-dominantly played as a middle-order batsman and always exhibited an aggressive approach. Azhar was also a brilliant slip fielder and took some great catches in his career.
