1. Lendl Simmons (West Indies) – 56.29
It was during IPL-7 that Mumbai Indians secured the services of swashbuckling opening batsman and West Indian Lendl Simmons. He helped to provide Mumbai the good starts that they were seriously missing. He could play just 8 matches but scored 394 runs at 56.29, which was phenomenal for someone who was playing in his first IPL. When you watch Lendl Simmons bat, there is some elegance to go by, a trait you associate with some of the Caribbean batsmen. He is an excellent fielder and can don the gloves when the situation arises. Lendl Simmons is also the nephew of West Indian cricketer Phil Simmons. He can potentially shift gears at any part of the innings, and bat at any position. He enjoys his game very much. For someone of his stature, he does really packs a punch. He is no.1 in the list of Top 10 highest batting average in IPL.
