Sangakkara is already a living legend, there is no doubt about that. That’s why he sits here at second number in the best wicket keeping batsman of all times. Sangakkara is the most evolved player of the modern times scoring over 14,000 ODI runs and 12,000 Test runs. Sangakkara’s batting was always a bright spot with his keeping still a work in progress in the early stages of his career. Sangakkara has shown immense hunger for runs, particularly in the last few years in International cricket easily racking up more than 1000 runs in both formats in these years. He had a great World Cup 2015, scoring four consecutive world cup centuries, also becoming the first man to do so. His unselfish attitude has been on display with him retiring at the peak of his powers even when it’s clear that he can play for some time more. He has over 500 dismissals in ODI cricket plus around 200 dismissals in Test cricket behind the stumps.
