Whenever the cricket fraternity would remember the name of this fast bowler, then they would get a fitting picture of a pioneer, who was the magic hand behind the discovery of the baffling art of reverse swing. He was an intimidating fast bowler who wears the face of hostility and fire power with the ball in hand. He was a complete fast bowler who could swing as well reverse-swing the ball, bombard the batsmen with barrage of bouncers and even bowl the deadly Yorkers.
He rose to fame and name in the cricket universe after his frightening and so called “spell from hell” where he got rid of nine Australians on his way to figures of 9-86 at Melbourne in 1979.
In his career which spanned for 15 years and 100 international matches, he took 240 wickets.
