4. India vs Pakistan, World Cup 2003 Quarter Final, Centurion
In one of the most intense rivalries, India had to play with their arch rival Pakistan at Centurion in a group stage match of World Cup 2003. The stadium was jam-packed with spectators having an eagerness to watch Sachin Tendulkar as Sachin-Shohaib clash was a clash to die for during those days. Sourav Ganguly won the toss and elected to field as he believed that the wicket will offer good bounce and pace to the bowlers initially. With some good bowling in the death overs by India, Pakistan were restricted on the score of 273. Sachin started the Indian innings with an awe-inspiring six of a short ball which cruised at 156 KPH on the very 2nd ball of Shoaib Akhtar’s over. The six was so mind boggling that it is still remembered as one of the greatest sixes in the cricket history. Eventually, Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh started playing aggressively and added a century partnership taking India to the glory. This triumph of India over Pakistan created an everlasting effect in hearts of Indian fans.
