Whenever the Bangladeshi fans and cricket lovers remember the 1999 World Cup match against Pakistan, they get nostalgic about one of their most emphatic victories.
This match was against a star studded Pakistani side, who were also the finalists of this edition and had the likes of Akhtar, Wasim, Saqlain, Waqar, Inzamam, Afridi and Saleem Malik at their peak.
After batting first, the Bangla tigers posted 223 runs on the board. Although, the total didn’t look intimidating but their bowlers had some other plans. Their bowlers put up an awe inspiring performance to dismantle the strong Pakistani batting line up. The Bangla tigers outplayed the Pakistani side by a margin of 62 runs. Khaled Mahmud who claimed figures of 3/31 was adjudged the man of the match in this historical win.
