Alastair Cook started his career with a Century on debut against India at Nagpur in 2006. Since then he never looked back. He went on to score 1000 runs in his maiden year and become the youngest Englishman to reach 1500, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 Test runs. He was the chief architect behind England’s Ashes Victory in 2010-11, England’s first series win in Australia for 24 years where he scored 766 runs in seven innings. His total of 24 Test centuries remains an English record. With age on his side, Cook seems to be the potential Threat for Sachin’s records in tests. The Current England Captain occupies the number 6 in our list of Top 10 Greatest English Batsmen of All Time.
