8. Sir Len Hutton

Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack described him as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He is sound in defensive strokes and could play the attacking shots whenever needed. In 1941 Hutton injured his left arm during commando training for the World War II and had to alter his batting style since his arm never fully recovered. He played majority of his career after the injury and still had an astonishing average of 56.67 and that makes Sir Len Hutton the number 8 in our list of Top 10 Greatest English Batsmen of All Time.
