5. Dinesh Chandimal (Sri Lanka)
After the retirement of Sri Lankan legends, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, there has been a big hole in the Lankan middle-order. But since their retirement, Dinesh Chandimal seems to have come off age. The stylish Sri Lankan batter enjoyed a purple patch in Test cricket, last year. The middle-order batsman caressed 901 runs in the whites at an average of 47.42 and played knocks of paramount importance against India, West Indies and New Zealand respectively. Chandimal’s gritty knock of 162*  against India at the Galle earned him a lot of accolades. This year a lot will rest upon his shoulders. Chandimal will be one of the key players for Sri Lanka in this transition phase.
