2. India vs Hong Kong, 25 June 2008
It’s Asia Cup 2008- the one which ultimately Ajanta Mendis & Sri Lanka snatched from India but before that India played Hong Kong. With Viru & Gauti in the form of their lives, India had a good platform. Barring Rohit Sharma who was not a double centurion back then , everyone cashed in at a strike rate of over 90. Raina was the star of the day as he on his way to his maiden hundred that too of 66 balls built a 166 run partnership with his Buddy MSD, who himself scored a hundred coming up at Number 4. With a target of 375, Hong Kong were never really in the game. It all became about how big the win would be for the Men in blue which was taken care of Piyush Chawla scalping 4 wickets for a meagre 23 runs. To cap it all, it June 25, 2008- the 25th Anniversary of India’s 83 World cup victory. Can it get any better?
