8. Ajinkya Rahane, India
Few today will decline the fact that Ajinkya Rahane has been the most improved cricketer in India in the last 2 years. He has earned his place in the side on bank of some of the best batting by a young India overseas with hundreds in New Zealand, Australia , England and a fighting 90 in Johannesburg. Rahane has also been on of the better fielders currently in the country, with a penchant for fielding in any position. His direct hit run out of Du Plessis was instrumental in India being able to hold South Africa for a draw in the chase of 458 in late 2013. More recently, Rahane became the first player in the world to take 8 catches in a completed test match, with breath-taking catches on slips where India has had a problem of sorts recently. Thus, Ajinkya Rahane has earned his place in this list, sitting at number 8.
