3. Gautam Gambhir (Kolkata Knight Riders) – 393 runs
The under-fire Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir, has been out of the national reckoning for quite some time now, with many considering his international career as good as over. But his consistent displays in the IPL thus far, have given a new lease of life to his sinking career. With Shikhar Dhawan out-of-form in the last few months for India, many believe that Gauti’s IPL exploits might well earn him the national cap for the upcoming limited overs tour of Zimbabwe.
Gambhir has won the Knights many a matches on his own in IPL 2016 and has looked in red-hot form. Now, the experienced campaigner is playing with more of a side-on stance to overcome his technical glitches and it has certainly reaped him sweet fruits as well. The left-hander has scored 393 runs in 9 outings at an average of 56 and strike-rate in range of mid 120s.
