At the top of the ladder is Martin Guptill from New Zealand who scored 472 runs in 2012 as the opener for the Black Caps. The knock includes a legendary 101 not out against South Africa, where he hit a boundary of the last ball to seal the game for his team, also becoming the second batsman after Richard Levi to score a T20 international hundred chasing a target. Guptill also scored two more fifty plus scores in the 13 innings that he played in the calendar year.
