Clarke is a modern day legend and he has earned this tag through dedication, hard work, patience and some memorable batting displays. When Australia looked in all sorts of troubles Clarke was the one who scored for them and he was the one who rejuvenated this Australian side. Clarke calls it a day and here I reflect on his most memorable performances.
10. 210 against India in 2012:
A few innings after Clarke scored his career best score, he managed to pile up another magnificent double century against India again. This time the Oz’s choosing to bat first were in a little spot of bother when the scoreboard read 84/3 but then again a very good partnership between Ponting and Clarke made goings a lot easier. Ponting scored a magnificent 221 and Clarke scoring a matching 210 runs. Both piled up double hundreds and put Australia were in the driver’s seat and easily won the match. This was the last match of the series and Michael Clarke received Man of the series award for his outstanding display of batting scoring a triple and a double hundred.
