4. Ravichandran Ashwin (Chennai Super Kings) – 107
Ravichandran Ashwin is a tall off-spinner who made a reputation for himself as an all-rounder in the international arena. When he started to play for India, he was just a mystery spinner who stunned the batsmen with his carrom ball. But as time went by, he brought variations to the art of off-spin and extremely successful in the limited overs circuit. However there has been criticism on him for not flighting the ball and looking to contain the batsmen. It was the perfect strategy for bowling in T20s but not in the other formats where he needed to pick wickets. Ashwin has been Dhoni’s trusted soldier for Chennai Superkings alongwith Suresh Raina. He has a lot to thank the IPL for enhancing his reputation and obviously the Chennai Super Kings. It was his success with Chennai Super Kings that earned him a call-up to the Indian team during the 2011-12 season. He played 107 matches consecutively for Chennai Super Kings. He is still very much an active player for the Chennai franchisee, and doesn’t seem like he is going to stop ! . Ravichandran Ashwin is no.4 in the list.
