With just a few weeks to go for the Champions League T20, injuries come haunting the participation of some high profile players. South African pacer Morne Morkel will miss the the Champions League T20 owing to a shoulder injury. Morne Morkel, was quintessential part for Kolkata Knightriders in the last edition of Indian Premier League. His absence will raise concerns in the Kolkata Knightriders camp. Swashbuckling batsman and wicketkeeper Manvinder Bisla has been called as replacement. [dropcap][/dropcap]
This is the 3rd player losing out on the CLT20 from Kolkata Knightriders. Previously, Chris Lynn and Shakib Al Hasan was also ruled out from the tournamnet. Lynn had to skip the tournament owing to a surgery in his troubling shoulder and Shakib had his NOCs cancelled by the Bangladesh Cricket Board owing to displinary problems. Cricket South Africa had indicated of his absence to the BCCI that the ace pacer need some quality time to fix his shoulder problem.
Morne Morkel took 12 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 30.58 at an economy of 7.64 in Ipl 2014.
Cricket South Africa had communicated to the BCCI that Morkel needed time to fix an ongoing shoulder problem that had worsened during the recent tri-series in Zimbabwe. The franchise was informed earlier this week.
