One of the fierciest English Premier League rivalry is on the cards. Chelsea travel to the Etihad to take on Manchester City on Sunday. The Blues are currently sitting pretty at the top of the table with four wins from four, having scored 15 goals in the process. Defending champions Manchester City have had a less auspicious start, with a 2-2 draw at Arsenal and a 1-0 defeat by Stoke City seeing them in fifth place. Manchester City will need to pick themselves up after a last-gasp Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Frank Lampard is set to play a part for Manchester City against Chelsea, the club for whom he made 648 appearances. Defending champions City are five points behind leaders Chelsea after taking only one point from the last two league matches. City must win their next game at home and with that they will be two points behind the leader. Chelsea are in unstoppable form in the Premier League, winning all four of their fixtures so far this season. New arrival Diego Costa has scored seven goals, while Cesc Fabregas is dissecting defences at will, registering six assists already but as per the reports Diego Costa is ‘not in the best condition’ but will start up front for Chelsea against Manchester City, confirms Jose Mourinho. After a fairly poor start to the season, the Citizens will want to boost their confidence with a win over Chelsea, and the Blues will need to be at their very best to stop them from achieving that aim.
It’s football. If you had asked four or five years ago, I would have said it was strange. Even a few months ago, when he signed for the New York team, I was not expecting this. But it was his decision. When he left for New York, I thought he was going there. But it’s his life, his decision, and he has my respect for that.
