After a comprehensive victory against FC Goa, FC Pune City were confident and were looking to put up another good performance in front of the home crowd. Kostas Katsouranis, who was the man of the match in the last game, expected to continue his fine form and to play a critical role against Kerala. Kerala definitely pressed hard for their first win in the tournament. It was a suspense match for viewers and supporters whether Kerala will get their first win or Pune will pack up the lead by winning 2nd game. First one for Pune. David Trezeguet strucked a beauty followed a good assistance by Goossens in the 16th minute which hosted Pune 1-0 lead with the confidence of winning the match but Kerala made it 1-1 as Sabeeth, assisted by Hengbart, converted the corner to level hosts in the 40th minute.
