7. Ravichandran Ashwin (India) – 72 wickets, Ave: 23.90 & 612 runs, Ave: 43.71
World’s leading spinner at the moment, R Ashwin was again just too hot to handle at home. This time, the home pitches for New Zealand and England were no way near to pitches that were prepared for South Africa series, last summer. England series was touted as India’s toughest challenge and with the visitors winning four tosses and some flat pitches at disposal, Ashwin displayed some great skills to pocket a total of 28 wickets in 5 Tests.
The offie also had a very good West Indies series. The right-hander had a terrific year with the willow in hand as well and responded with two centuries when handed over the responsibility to bat at no.6 against West Indies.
