8. John Hastings (Australia) – 29 wickets, Avg: 24.13, Econ: 5.32
The Aussie all-rounder; John Hastings is the leading wicket-taker among pacers, this year. 2016 has been a breakthrough year for Hastings and he has done exceedingly well in some trying conditions. Hastings’ career best-ODI figures of 6/45 came against Sri Lanka at Dambulla, this year. In Canberra ODI as well, India were cruising at 277 for 1 in the chase of 349 runs with Kohli and Dhawan set at the crease but Hastings took back-to-back wickets of Dhawan and Dhoni, in space of an over and turned around the match in favour of Australia.
The 6 feet 6 inches tall Aussie also scored 155 runs at an average of 31 with the willow. But after few underwhelming performances in South Africa, Hastings was surprisingly axed for the New Zealand series.
